Density Dresser

This dresser is an example of one of the more idiosyncratic designs on which we have collaborated. Our client brought in an array of unusually heavy, dense woods that he had collected over the years, along with a concept for a very creative design. One of our founding craftsmen, Luong Le, then worked together with the client to select the most appropriate wood species for each part of the piece.

Santowood from Brazil was used for the legs and top, and Holywood, a type of Lignum Vitae, was chosen for the drawer faces. Despite the difficulties of working with such dense woods, our combination of extremely sharp tools and experienced craftsmen led to the successful fulfillment of the client’s vision.
